Leather Care

Leather handbags are unique and durable pieces that deserve proper care to preserve their beauty and extend their lifespan. Follow these basic tips and your bag will always look impeccable.

1. Protect Your Bag from Daily Use

  • Avoid moisture: Do not expose your bag directly to rain or very humid environments. If it gets wet, dry it gently with a soft cloth without rubbing and leave it in a well-ventilated area.
  • Watch out for friction: Constant rubbing against rough surfaces or dark-colored clothing (especially with light-colored leather) can wear down or stain the leather.
  • Avoid contact with: greasy products, solvents, alcohol, or any abrasive substances.
  • Avoid direct sunlight: Prolonged exposure to the sun can cause discoloration and dryness.

2. Regular Cleaning

  • Remove dust: Gently wipe the bag with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dust or light dirt.
  • Clean surface stains: If a stain appears, use a slightly damp cloth with warm water or a specific leather cleaner. Never use common wet wipes, as they may contain chemicals that damage the leather.

3. Hydration and Conditioning

  • Apply leather cream: Periodically (every 2–3 months), use leather-specific creams or balms. This prevents the leather from drying or cracking.
  • Test first on a hidden area: Before applying any product, test it on an inner or less visible area of the bag to ensure it does not alter the color or texture.

4. Proper Storage

  • Store it in its dust bag: When not in use, place it inside a breathable fabric bag to protect it from dust and light.
  • Avoid plastic: Do not use plastic bags or airtight containers, as they can create moisture and damage the leather.
  • Maintain its shape: Fill the bag with tissue paper or soft paper to prevent deformation. Do not use newspaper, as it may stain the leather.
  • Ventilation: Store it in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources or direct light.

5. Other Useful Tips

  • Do not overload the bag: Exceeding its capacity can deform it and damage the handles.
  • Avoid harsh products: Perfumes, cosmetics, or alcohol can damage the leather finish. If using perfume, apply it before wearing the bag to avoid direct contact.

With these simple care tips, your leather bag will maintain its elegant look and quality for much longer. Enjoy it and always look impeccable!
